The Largest Rescue Operation in Wind Cave National Park History

In 1989, a mock rescue training exercise inside Wind Cave took a sudden turn, leaving an 18 year old student navigating the passageways alone and in complete darkness. What began as a controlled scenario quickly turned into the largest rescue operation in the park's history.
