The Deadliest Ski Avalanche in US History: Tahoe National Forest

For this story we are heading back to the year of 1982 when the deadliest avalanche in ski mountain history hit Alpine Meadows Ski Resort in Tahoe National Forest.  A huge storm hit the area for days, piling on so much snow that visitors couldn't leave. When the avalanche hits, it destroys a main building with people inside.

There is a very limited window where anyone can be saved, and the clock is ticking. With the help of ski patrol, locals, and search and rescue dogs, they begin a devastating rescue and recovery mission.
